GILLETTE, Robert (Bob)


Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, May 12th, 2010 Robert (Bob) Gillette, age 80 of Globe, Ariz. passed away at his home on Monday, May 3, 2010. Bob was born on June 7, 1929 in Claypool, Ariz. to George and Bertie Gillette. Bob was a lifelong resident of the local area. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years and retired from Arizona Public Service in 1989. Bob was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the V.F.W., the American Legion, a 54-year member of the White Mountain Lodge #3, a 32nd degree of the Scottish Rite, a 57-year member of the IBEW local #387 and the Globe Elks. He was a retired member of the Globe Volunteer Fire Department and also served 11 years as a Globe City Councilman. Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martha; his daughters, Ellie (Mike) Boyd and Mary (Dan) Courvoisier; five grandchildren, Patrick and Adam Termain, Sarah Rodriquez, Dean Courvoisier and Benjamin Boyd, as well as two great-grandchildren all of Globe. A memorial service was held at the Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 8, 2010. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 1362, Globe, AZ 85502. Assisting the family is Lamont Mortuary.
