Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, May 12th, 2010 Warren Clare Wampole, 72, of Central Heights, Ariz. passed away on May 4, 2010. Warren was born in North Lima, Ohio on Jan. 2, 1938, the son of Whitie and Dolores Wampole. Warren attended Miami High School where he met the love of his life, Toni Aragon whom he was married to for 55 years. Warren had a passion for racing and raced everything from Jalopies to Midgets, Super Modifieds and Sprint Cars. He won many races and several track championships at the famed Globe-Miami Speedway. The highlight of his racing career was being inducted into the Arizona Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2006. Warren passed on his passion for racing to his children who in turn passed it onto his grandchildren. He loved to work in the shop helping everyone on their cars. Warren, “Pa,” will be greatly missed by his family, many friends, and fellow racers. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Whitie and Dolores, and granddaughter Darcy. He is survived by his loving wife, Toni; adoring sister, Dianne (Jerry); children, Wayne (Linda), Nikki (Billy), David, Warren Jr. (Shannon). Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Memorial service was held Monday, May 10, 2010 at Lamont Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be private. Fr. Jay Luczak officiated.
