Leon Denson Ulmer, 88, died Jan. 3, 2005 at Bannon Springs Ranch in Vernon.
L.D. was a farmer and rancher in Coolidge and Marana until 1975 when he and his wife, Vivian, bought a little country store in Ashdown, Arkansas where they stayed until 1990. They then moved to Taylor where they retired.
He is survived by three sons, Glenn (Sherry) Ulmer of Coolidge, Glenn (Linda) Aleff of Fort Worth, Texas, Donald (Mary) Aleff of Tucson; three daughters, JoAnn Calvin of Snowflake, Ruth (David) Cocking of Taylor and Mary (Royce) Feemster of Henderson, Nevada; one sister, Lola Strickland of Phoenix; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed and the family wishes to acknowledge Bannon Springs Ranch for all the tender care they gave our father while he was with them.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian and son-in-law, Mike Calvin.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. at Owens Mortuary in Snowflake.
