The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 01/28/2005 Henry Chavez Sample, Sr., 66 died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005 at his home in Holbrook, Henry was born Aug. 15, 1938 in St. Johns. He was employed as a custodian by the Holbrook School District for 15 years, from 1978 to 1993. He enjoyed fishing, playing the lottery, collecting pennies, giving candy to kids, cruising in his car and taking his grandkids to school every morning. He loved making plates of food and delivering them to friends and family. Survivors include his wife, Rosalie Trinidad Perea Sample, Holbrook; two sons Thomas and Peggy (Gillespie) Sample and Derrick and Bobbi (Gillespie) Sample, all of Holbrook; two daughters Delfina and Frank Baca, Kanab, Utah and Christina and Frederick Baca, Show Low; daughter-in-law, Frances Sample, Holbrook; four brothers, Anthony Sample, Robert Sample, Alfred Sample and Ruben Garcia; five sisters, Yvonne Baca, Anabelle Castillo, Stella Sample, Gladys Jaramillo and Nora Acosta; his sister-in-law and number one caregiver, Helen Archibeque; 19 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Demetrio and Nellie Sample; sister Lucy Acosta; and son, Henry Sample, Jr. Mass of Christain Burial was held Thursday, Jan. 27 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Holbrook. Burnham-Jewkes Mortuary, St. Johns handled the arrangements.
