COVEY, Richard (Dick)


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, September 9, 2007 Richard (Dick) Covey of the "Greatest Generation" was called home by The Lord in his 89th year, Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, in Prescott Ariz. A combat B-29 pilot, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mariella (Mitzie); three sons and daughter-in-laws; seven grandchildren; two grandchildren in-law; and four great-grandchildren. Dick spent his working career in radio and TV and was among the first television pioneers in Des-Moines, Iowa, with KRNT. He and the family relocated to Arizona in 1959 and he has resided in Prescott for the past 14 years. He also was with KCRA in Sacramento, Calif., for a number of years between residences in Arizona. His loving family celebrates his long life and the blessings of being part of his family during his time here. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all his family, friends, business associates and the folks at Las Fuentes in Prescott where he and Mitzie most recently resided.
