The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona
Saturday, September 8, 2007
Jack Hamilton served the people of Prescott as Fire Chief from 1974 to 1979. He completed his earthly journey on Aug. 20, 2007. He and his wife, Connie, were traveling in Missouri at the time of his sudden death.
Jack was born in Los Angeles, Calif., on Dec. 16, 1943, to Howard and Evelyn Hamilton.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Sean) Canada of Mosca, Colo., and son, Rick (Emily) Hamilton of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; his father, Howard Hamilton of Santa Maria, Calif.; his sister, Gerrie Strait also of Santa Maria, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Marlee and Megan of Mosca, Colo., and Ben and Nick of Prescott Valley, Ariz.
Jack was truly a "Jack of all trades" ... a fireman for the City of Orange, Calif., Fire Chief for the City of Prescott, a furniture and cabinet maker, a licensed contractor, a business owner, a rancher and an artist.
He enjoyed many outside activities and hobbies, but his real passion was trains and model railroading.
Services were Aug. 28, 2007, at Gateway Baptist Church in Del Norte, Colo., and he was laid to rest in his beloved Colorado.
He will be missed.
