The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, September 6, 2007 Laura J. Keefe (nee Wallace) of Prescott and Lake Havasu, Ariz., passed away peacefully in hospice care in Phoenix Sept. 4, 2007. Born in Chicago, Ill., Laura spent her formative years in Crawfordsville, Ind. She attended Indiana University and received her bachelor's of science degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. In 1945, Laura and her loving husband of 60 years, William Philip, were married in Crawfordsville, Ind. Laura and Bill lived in Roseville, Minn., for more than 30 years and spent summers at their lake residence in Breezy Point. She had a long and successful career as a homemaker, volunteer and tax preparer for H&R Block. Laura was an avid golfer, hiker, outdoor enthusiast and lover of animals. She had a passion for the world of nature, from the loons of northern Minnesota to the Arizona desert in bloom. She is survived by her children, Teresa Ruhter, Patricia Kippels, Edward Keefe, Marjorie Beebe and William Keefe; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren Laura's beloved husband, William, preceded her in death Oct. 9, 2005. Funeral services will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at the LDS Chapel on 18305 S. Greenfield Road, Gilbert, Ariz. Internment at the National Cemetery in Phoenix will be at a later date. In addition to her caring family, Laura is remembered by family, friends and loved ones in Arizona and Minnesota and many other states in the country.
