Dick Davis, born Sept. 25, 1918, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, in Prescott.
Dick married Florence L. Howland in Oelwein, Iowa, in 1940, and they would have celebrated 66 years of loving marriage on Sept. 15, 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Florence; his niece, Patty Allen, and her husband, Jim Allen, of Chino Valley; many great-nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He served with honor in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to1946, and upon discharge from the Navy he was employed by the Southern California Edison Company in Southern California for 34 years. After retirement, he and Florence spent many years traveling both in the U.S. and abroad, after which they moved to Prescott to be near their niece and her family.
A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Hampton Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, with Reverend Mark Tilly presiding.
The Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
