SWARTS, Gregory Ray

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, September 7, 2006 Gregory R. Swarts was born Jan. 20, 1950, in Delta, Colorado. He passed away Sept. 4, 2006, following a long courageous battle with cancer. Greg had a tremendous zeal for life and had a heart for the lost and hurting. As an ordained minister, his passion touched many people at his home church in Delta, Colorado, as well as Teen Challenge, Grace Chapel and Prescott Word of Life Church. He was founding pastor of Canyon Del Oro Assembly. Later in life he was involved with Reaching Kids International, a ministry he co-founded. Greg enjoyed the adventure, challenges and soul winning in Africa, India, Brazil, Thailand, Mexico, and Hong Kong. Greg's apostolic ministry birthed churches in India and Africa. Greg is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Janel; sons Eric, Joshu and his wife Jennifer; and daughter Kristin; as well as three grandchildren, Matthew, Tyler and Kayla Rain Swarts. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, at Victor Assembly of God Church, 2561 W. Ruthrauff Road, Prescott. A viewing will be held one hour before funeral services.
