The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ July 27, 1978, p. 7 Funeral services for long-time Salome resident, Floyd O. Townsend, were last Saturday morning by the Rev. Bert Follmar of Calvary Baptist Church. Interment at Wickenburg Cemetery followed. Mr. Townsend died on July 18 at his residence. He was born 78 years ago in Haskell, Texas. He was a farmer. Survivors are daughter, Marlaette Gentry of Phoenix; a son, Lt. Col. John Townsend of Tucson, 13 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Mr. Townsend was a member of Luke Greenway American Legion Post Number 1.
