The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, September 16, 2006 Ernest (Ernie) J. Duran Sr., 71, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at Bob Stump VA Medical Center in Prescott. He was born Jan. 6, 1935, in Howard, Colo., the son of Andres and Lucy (Madrid) Duran. Ernie is survived by his children, Andres Robert Duran, Sophia Gradillas, Ernestina Mejia, Ernest John Duran Jr., Lisa Cordova, Gilbert Duran, Jerome Duran, and Benny J: Duran. Ernie is also survived by one brother and eight sisters, 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Corner of Cortez and Carlton streets, Prescott. A Scripture Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prescott. Final Commendation and Farewell with full Military Honors will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
