Frances I. "Boots" Jackson, age 81, died Sept. 19, 2006, in Prescott Valley. She was born Jan. 8,1925, in Hillside, Ky., daughter of Charles and Nonnie Crick (Andrews) Underwood.
Boots was an avid reader and a great cook. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and told everyone she met that they should get ready to meet Him. Boots also volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul Society. She and Jesse were members of the Mayer Elders' Club.
There was never a person she met who she didn't love and who didn't love her. Her family will miss her greatly.
Boots is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jesse L. Jackson; sons Torrey and Terry Jackson; daughter Barbara Jackson; brother Charles Underwood; sisters June Kellett and Anita; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Boots was preceded in death by her son, Jesse L. Jr.; and her daughter, Nonnie Jayne Jackson.
Commemoration services in honor of Boots will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Sunrise Funeral Home Chapel, 8167 E. Highway 69, Prescott Valley. There will be a visitation from 3 to 5 p.m., prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in honor of Boots to Present Truth Ministries, P.O. Box 1252, Mayer, AZ 86333.
