SOMMERS, Donnie Eugene

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, September 14, 2006 Donnie Eugene Sommers, born Sept. 4, 1932, to Frank and Josephine Sommers, in Sissiton, S.D., passed away Sept. 11, 2006, in Prescott Valley. The family moved to West Fargo, N.D., when Donnie was 10 years old. He attended West Fargo High School. On Feb. 2, 1952, Donnie married Betty Beryl Nelson and later joined the Air Force. Donnie worked 15 years at the Lazy T-7 Cattle Co. in Yuma.Ariz. Throughout the years he owned a fleet of semi trucks. The last 15 years he worked at Prudential as a real estate agent. Donnie is survived by his loving wife, Betty, of 54 years; daughters Cathy (Dave) Platt and Stacey (Sam) Fulkerson; and son, Todd (Darlene) Sommers. He loved each of his grandchildren: Mike, David, Catherine (James), Don, Hiland (Christina), Nelson, Kane, Ivory, Kayla, Ashlie and Travis; great-grandchildren Annette (Catherine and James), Amy and Aylssa (Hiland & Christina). Donnie was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Kyle (Todd and Darlene). He loved his family more than anything and we will all miss his wonderful sense of humor and great hugs. He will be missed until we are together again in Heaven through the power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A celebration of his life will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3950 N. Valorie Drive, PrescottValley, officiated by Pastor Tim Blau.
