Albert Byrl Johnson, 96, of Lake Montezuma, died May 27.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Johnson was a Beaver Creek School board member; he built the library, computer lab and several classrooms. 

Preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; sister, Mildred Eppers; brothers Max, Gale and Garth Johnson. 

Johnson is survived by a stepson, Robert Shields; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two nieces.

Memorial Service are at Sedona Winds Assisted Living in Sedona on Friday, June 6, at 10 a.m. 

Inurnment at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
