Luis Muela was born December 30, 1919 in Metcalf, Arizona, the son of Luis and Jesusita Lechuga Muela. He grew up in Metcalf, attending Morenci Schools and later completing his formal education in Clifton.
Following his education, Luis obtained work with Phelps Dodge Mining Corporation in Morenci. In the late 1970's, following nearly 25 years of dedicated service to the community, Luis retired from his duties as a barber.
In retirement Luis continued to remain busy as he could often be found working around and repairing his home, tending his garden and going on cruises to various destinations including the Caribbean and Mexico. In the spring of this year, Luis returned home to Clifton, where he resided with his niece, Angelina Contreras, until his passing. Luis will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather.
