Beloved brother, cousin, uncle and friend, William Charles Cody, Jr. also known as Steve went home to be with the Lord Feb. 9, 2005.
He was born May 13, 1967 in Whiteriver. He attended high school at Alchesay High School and worked several years at the Cibecue athletic department. He recently moved back to Whiteriver from Crownpoint, New Mexico. He will be dearly missed.
He leaves behind his girlfriend, Sonya Nez; three brothers, Kenneth Cody, Sr. of Whiteriver, James Cody, Tom Cody both of Cibecue; two sisters Starlene Foster of Phoenix and Darlene Cody of Phoenix; grandparents William and Helen Childs of Carrizo; one maternal aunt, Josephine Gooday; his father William Cody, Sr. and step-mother Caroline Cody of San Carlos. He is also survived by seven grand kids, nine nephews and 12 nieces.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Marlene Hawkins; brothers Levi Cody and Andrew Foster, and his mother Charlene Cody.
His body will be brought back to Whiteriver. A two-day wake will start at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17 at the residence of Kenneth Cody, Sr. at One Step Beyond House No. 130. A home service will also be held at this same location Saturday, Feb. 19 at noon. Following the service burial will take place at the Hilltop Cemetery in Carrizo.
