GUEVARA, Paul H.


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 02/22/2005 Paul H. Guevara, 67, died Jan. 23, 2005 after a struggle with throat cancer. He was born in Gilbert Aug. 8, 1937, to Francisco and Lupe Guevara. Paul proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1959, being stationed in Germany, assigned as a medic. Paul married Virginia Moya Aug. 31, 1969 in Phoenix. They are the parents of three sons, Paul, Robert and Frank Guevara. Paul Sr. is also the father by his previous marriage to Yvonne Guevara of Hollister, California, and Debbie Guevara Hernandez of San Jose, California. Paul was well known as an upholsterer of 31 years, and along with his wife Virginia as proprietors of Paradise Upholstery and Hillcrest Food Mart near Concho. He loved to fish and hunt, was a hard worker, and good husband and father to his family. Paul is survived by his loving wife Virginia; mother Lupe of Caute, Oklahoma; brothers Tommy of Hollister, California and Kelly of San Jose, California; sisters Delifa Taylor of Caute, Oklahoma, Frances Baggett of Elk City, Oklahoma, and Margaret Gray of Hollister, California, as well as son Paul (Rebecca); grandsons Paul III and Justin of Concho; son Robert (Patricia); and grandson Jacob of Show Low and son Frank of Phoenix. His family is grateful to Hospice of Show Low for their expert care and compassion during his illness. The family invites you to attend a memorial to be held Friday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located in Concho.
