Mary Kathryn Russell died Feb. 11, 2005 in Mesa.
Mary was born to Camsey Evelyn and Raymond Turner Parker in Dayton, Ohio Nov. 19, 1915. She married to C.R. Russell Nov. 21, 1941 and were married for 64 years. With their son, Robert Lee Kirst and her parents, the family moved to Tucson where they settled. Their daughter Evelinn Russell was born Jan. 18, 1948. After Russell's retirement, they moved near their daughter in Snowflake and resided there six months out of the year there, and six months in Apache Junction. Mary Kathryn and her husband traveled intensely all over the United States.
She is survived by her husband, C.R. Russell; daughter Mary Evelinn Whitehouse; three grandchildren, Felicity DeWitt, Daniel Russell, Aan Ingalls; also two great-grandchildren, Kathaleena DeWitt and Ramon DeWitt.
From her son Robert Kirst, she had two grandchildren, Kim and Shelly Wright, along with four great-grandchildren, Elena, Christain, Kirsten Davis and Justin Wright.
Even in her last days, Mary Kathryn's source of life, peace and comfort was her Bible. God was and has always been her strength and refuge. Her faith was insurmountable. The following verses from scripture, were not only her favorites, but they reflect her heart and how she chose to live. John 3:16; Romans 3:23; Galation 2:20; Phillipians 4:7; I Peter 5:7; I John 1:9.
Her favorite songs were "In the Garden" and "Old Rugged Cross."
