The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, May 21, 2010 Obituary: Yvonne Yvette Mendoza Yvonne Yvette Mendoza, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, in Henderson, Nev. She was born Sept. 13, 1938, in Munising, Mich., to Charles and Evelyn Knee Maxam. On Aug. 31, 1968, she married Daniel Mariano Mendoza in Corona, Calif., and then one year later they were sealed in the Mesa, Ariz., Temple on Aug. 31, 1969. Yvonne grew up in Marlette, Mich. When she was newly married, she worked as a cosmetologist in California. She and Danny chose to raise their family in Prescott, Ariz. Over the years, they owned and operated several beauty salons. They moved to Overton, Nev., in 1988 where they opened the "Wild Hair" salon. She was very athletic and loved the outdoors. She enjoyed running, hiking, backpacking, boating, four-wheeling and camping. Survivors include her husband, Danny, of Overton, Nev.; two sons and two daughters, Corey (Robin) of Chino Valley, Ariz., Scott (Sara) of Henderson, Nev., Marcie (Randall) Schear of St. George, Utah, and Kerry Cutler of Las Vegas, Nev.; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and her only brother, Keith. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010, at the Logandale LDS Hinckley Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will be 9:20 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2010, at the Southern Nevada Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary.
