Benjamin Sedillo, 82, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005 at Navapache Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Mangas, New Mexico where he grew up and met Sylviana Padilla. They were married in 1942 and shortly after that Benjamin went to France and proudly served his country in the European Theatre during World War II. After the war he returned to McNary where he resumed his career at the Southwest Forest Industries.
Benjamin was employed there until the mill closed in 1979. In his free time he enjoyed walking, watching sports especially his grandchildren's games, reading and crossword puzzles.
Benjamin is survived by his wife, Sylviana of Lakeside; one daughter, Bennie (Bill) Muncy of Pinetop; two sons, Joe (Irene) Sadillo of Casa Grande, Rick (Paula) Sedillo of Lakeside; one brother, Del (Lucy) Sedillo of Phoenix; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Juan Sedillo who was killed in Vietnam; and one son-in-law, Joe Girardi.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 4 at St. Mary of the Angels. A Rosary will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at St. Mary of the Angels in Pinetop.
