MITCHELL, David Lewis

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 03/04/2005 David Lewis Mitchell, 59, died Monday, February 28, 2005 at the RTA Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Lakeside. He was born in Florence. His family moved to California when he was a child. David attended school in Ventura. Following high school he attended The California College of Arts and Crafts, he also attended Chouinard, the Art Center School of Los Angeles and his art was shown at the New Talent Show at the Los Angeles County Museum. Following school he worked as an artist for many years. David moved to The White Mountains. In the early 1970's where he continued working as an artist and also a jewelry maker. His work has been displayed at numerous locations throughout the state. David is survived by his daughters, Lise Hunt of Manitou Springs, Colorado, Caren Nims of San Clemente, California; sister, Gail Thompson of Ventura, California; mother, Itha Mitchell of Ventura, California; and five grandchildren.
