LESUEUR, Harold B.


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 03/04/2005 Harold B. LeSueur, 81, died Feb. 24, 2005 in Snowflake. An Arizona native, he was born Feb. 5, 1924 in Eagar to Grover Bruce LeSueur and Ila Pearson LeSueur. He spent his younger years farming and ranching in the local area, in the family business. After graduating from Round Valley High School, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard where he proudly served his country. The following fall, Harold enrolled in at Utah State in Logan, Utah where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture. It was during this time that he married Amelia Voigt. Harold and Amelia spent a summer in Wyoming where Harold worked for the BLM in range management. Upon returning to Eastern Arizona, they began their long and prosperous career in the cattle and farming industry, where they developed many lifetime friendships. Harold was respected for his quality cattle, being a good neighbor, his honesty and hard work. Harold was an active member of his church and community. He was a life member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he served on the Stake High Council, as well as numerous other Ward and Stake positions. Community service includes Presidents of the Arizon Cattle Growers Assoc., Round Valley School Board, Round Valley Water Users and White Mountain Range Riders (of which he was a founding member). He was a Life Member of the American Herford Assoc. Also Board of Memberships include Soil conversation Service and the White Mountain Communities Hospital. Harold will be remembered as a wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all. His survivors include daughter Debra (Dave) Brimhall; son Voigt (Lori) LeSueur; brother Virgil (Betty Jo) LeSueur, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many extended family and close friends. He was preceded in death by his devoted, loving wife of 57 years, Amelia. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 2, at 1 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Amity Ward in Eagar. Interment will follow at the Eagar Cemetery. Contributions may be made in his name to RTA Hospice or the Arizona Cattle Growers Association. Burnham-Jewkes Mortuary, 535 N. Main, Eagar, is in charge of arrangements.
