The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ January 11 1979, p. 11 L. MORTON BACH Funeral services for the superintendent of construction of Wickenburg's first Desert Caballeros Museum, L. Morton Bach were Saturday last week in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Mr. Bach resided in Santa Monica. He died Dec. 27. The one-time former resident of Wickenburg was known by Ted DeVries of the Custom Coachworks. The two had restored a 1928 Franklin Landau together. Aviation buff and one of Bach's former acquaintances, Stanley Herr of Wickenburg, reported that Bach was active in local airport activities. Bach's pilot's license was reported to have been signed by aviation pioneer Orville Wright. Mr. Bach had designed the Bach Trimotor, a light aircraft. He manufactured aircraft in the 1920's and 30's and had been a barnstormer, an aerobatic pilot on the west coast. He was a vice-president of Lockheed Aircraft Corp. in the 1930's. During that period he supervised construction of Howard Hughes's round-the-world aircraft. Survivors include his widow, Rose; a daughter, Bernice; grandchildren Debra and Jim; and great grandchildren Heather.
