The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ March 22, 1979, p. 10 A long-time Wickenburg businessman and active community leader, Dick Hornecker, 70, died last Thursday in the Wickenburg Community Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Hornecker was born in Kansas and lived here 31 years. He retired four years ago from his position of agent for the Atlantic Richfield Oil Co. Mr. Hornecker was a former member of the Town Council and the Wickenburg Hospital Board, and was a past president of the Desert Caballeros and the Wickenburg Saddle Club. He also was a former vestryman at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, and had been administrative assistant of the Desert Caballeros since 1976. Surviving are his widow, Hester; a son, Jeffery, Denver; a daughter, Joan, Phoenix, two brothers and five sisters. Memorial services were Monday afternoon in St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, the Rev. Donald O. Chilton officiating.
