James Norwood Services Held
James Joseph Norwood, 89, died on Sunday, May 7, at Yavapai Community Hospital.
Born on Jan. 28, 1883, he had been a resident of Arizona most of his life, coming here from Arkansas.
Norwood had been in the freight industry when freight was hauled by mule train. He was also a mule skinner for many years.
Norwood had been a guest of the Arizona Pioneer Home prior to his entry to the hospital.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Meehan and Mrs. Nettie Eldridge, both of Fulton, Calif.; and a brother, Mason, of Thatcher, Ariz.
He is also survived by a stepdaughter, Mrs. Wilna Jensen, of Dewey and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 9, at 2 p.m. at the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. Bishop Fred Harvey of the LDS Church officiated. Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery.
