The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, May 9, 1972 James Norwood Services Held James Joseph Norwood, 89, died on Sunday, May 7, at Yavapai Community Hospital. Born on Jan. 28, 1883, he had been a resident of Arizona most of his life, coming here from Arkansas. Norwood had been in the freight industry when freight was hauled by mule train. He was also a mule skinner for many years. Norwood had been a guest of the Arizona Pioneer Home prior to his entry to the hospital. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Meehan and Mrs. Nettie Eldridge, both of Fulton, Calif.; and a brother, Mason, of Thatcher, Ariz. He is also survived by a stepdaughter, Mrs. Wilna Jensen, of Dewey and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 9, at 2 p.m. at the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. Bishop Fred Harvey of the LDS Church officiated. Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery.
