PROCACCINI, James Francis


Today's News-Herald, May 20, 2010. James Francis Procaccini, of Mesa and formerly of Lake Havasu City, passed away on May 3, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Jimmy was born in 1950 in New York where he grew up and graduated from St. John’s University. He received his doctorate in 2003 from Arizona State University. In addition to attending ASU, Jimmy taught in the English Department for the past 14 years where he was voted favorite English professor. He had a teacher’s heart and a life- long love for books. Jimmy touched the lives of many and will be remembered dearly by those he has left behind. He is survived by his wife, Tracy; son, Samuel; mother, Marge; brothers, Carmine (Jolie) and Stephen (Eric); sisters, Jane (David) DePeal and Tina (Ron) Rangel. He also leaves behind a niece, three nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Sal, in 2001. Together, they had opened the Pasta Shop Restaurant in Lake Havasu City in 1986. A memorial service was held May 8 in Gilbert.
