SAMONS, Harley D.


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona, May 10, 2010. Harley D. Samons left this world to be with our Heavenly Father May 7, 2010 leaving a caring wife, four children, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was born to Troy and Lethel (Duff) Samons, Oct. 1, 1936, in Success, Ark. Harley served under the direction of the U.S. Air Force. He started All American Air in 1971 and then started Samons Air in 1986. Harley was a family man whose wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the center of his life with a constant focus on the Lord for himself and as the family’s spiritual leader. He was a man who studied his Bible, golfed, hunted some and loved to work. He loved Havasu, attending services at Calvary Baptist Church and going to the London Bridge Golf Club. Harley will be missed very much by his employees, friends and family. Harley leaves behind his beloved wife, Joyce Samons; three sons, Dean, Bobby and Floyd Samons; daughter, Sheral Samons; brother, Gaylen Samons; sister, Jane Samons; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, 1 p.m., at Calvary Baptist Church. Pastors Chad Garrison and Ed Wyatt will offer words of comfort and inspiration. Interment will follow the services at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.
