GOODMAN, Orland Glen (Cadou)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 03/08/2005 Orland Glen Goodman, (Cadou), 70, of Holbrook, went home to his Heavenly Father Feb. 15, 2005. He was born in Woodruff March 18, 1934. As a boy he would head out early to roam the hills on his stick horse getting home in time for supper. He grew up swimming in the Little Colorado River and hiding in caves beside the river. He climbed the Woodruff Butte many times. He attended Holbrook High School. Glen loved Arizona. He especially loved the magnificient beauty of the desert and Canyon de Chelly. He appreciated the beauty of petrified wood and always wondered over it. He served in the US Air Force, 11-52 until 11-56. He was retired from the Teamsters Union Local 104 and Operating Engineers Union Local 428. He loved working construction. During his working and wandering, he was able to see a lot of Arizona. He had spent the last several months living near his daughter Cristy and her family in Maricopa. He enjoyed telling stories to the grandkids, watching Bailee take care of her chickens, watching Shelby tend to the horses, and helping Wyatt learn to shoot his BB gun. Little Harlee, only a month old, did a lot of crying. Cadou would grin, shake his head and mosey back to his little trailer. With him in Heaven are his parents, Lahoma and John Goodman, sister, Eva Shumway; and brothers, Leslie Goodman and Johnny Goodman. He is survived by friend and ex wife, Lavina Goodman; daughters, Amy Goodman; and Cristy (Forester) Haardt of Maricopa; three granddaughters, Shelby, Bailee and Harlee; one grandson, Wyatt; sister, Betty Hatch of Mesa; brothers, Jerry (Priscilla) Goodman and Benny (Peggy) Goodman of Woodruff. Plus many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Arrangements were made by Samaritan Funeral Home in Phoenix. Burial will be at the Show Low Cemetery, Saturday, April 9, 2005 at 1 p.m. Friends and relatives will have a gathering afterwards to share memories.
