SYLVAIN, Paul Scott


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 03/11/2005 Paul Scott Sylvain, 48, died suddenly at his home in Show Low Pines, Feb. 28, 2005. He was born Feb. 18, 1957 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Paul was a fun-loving, big-hearted man. He had a fascination for dinosaurs and loved visiting dinosaur sites. He was in his element when he was exploring old Indian Ruin sites and abandoned homesteads, or ghost towns. He loved to visit museums and could spend hours reading the history of exhibits. He also liked to ride ATVs, but his passion was playing the guitar. He was a talented musician. At one time he opened for Big Brother and the Holding Company, Janice Joplin's band. He loved to play guitar while his wife accompanied him on the piano. In November 2004, Paul and his sweetheart, Sandra, went to Las Vegas and were married in the Chapel of the Bells. They had only been married three months when he died. He was employed at Arizona Department of Transportation as a Tech I, highway maintenance worker Paul's survivors include wife Sandra, Show Low Pines; father Thomas J. Sylvain, Washington; daughter Michelle Renee Sylvain, Washington; sisters Susan Sylvain Dahlem, Washington, and Linda Dahl, Mesa. Preceding him in death were his mother Carmelita Krone Sylvain and his beloved step-mother Bobbie Sylvain. A memorial service was held at the First Assembly of God in St. Johns, Wednesday, March 9. Burnham-Jewkes Mortuary, St. Johns handled the arrangements.
