Helen Maxine Belshan né Barker, 89, went to meet our Lord on May 26, 2007, while residing at Country Meadows Assisted Living in Prescott Valley where she endeared herself to everyone. Mrs. Belshan was born in Wichita, Kan., then resided in Albert Lee, Kan., with her grandparents and mother.
After high school, Helen Barber studied to become a registered nurse. Having accomplished her goal, she joined the military nine days after Pearl Harbor in l941. It was there that she met Edward Belshan and eventually married him.
After discharge, Ed and Helen went to live in Minnesota near Ed's family. From there, they decided to leave the cold winters in Minnesota and took up permanent residence in Prescott, Ariz.
Helen was a kind, generous, and compassionate person. She loved her lunch at Denny's and made many friends there. She followed the Biblical Golden Rule in all things.
She is survived by Belshan family relations and the many people who loved her here in Prescott. She will be missed mostly by her best friend, Katie, her cat.
Her cremated remains will be buried next to those of her dear husband, Ed, in Minnesota. Services will be arranged by her relatives.
