MACGREGOR, Joseph F., Jr.


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 03/15/2005 Joseph F. MacGregor, Jr. of Pinetop died Saturday, March 12, 2005 peacefully at home. Joe was born Dec. 5, 1950 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to Joyce and Joseph MacGregor, Sr. His family relocated to Tucson in 1955. Joe was raised in Tucson and attended Pueblo High School. He graduated in 1969 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in the fall of 1969 achieving the rank of Sergeant and specializing as a field radio operator. While enlisted, Joe served his country in the Vietnam War. He moved to Pinetop in 1978 where he went to work for Contel, now Frontier Communications. He was employed there for 27 years. Joe loved the outdoors, he was an avid hunter, archer fisherman and outdoorsman. He especially loved teaching these things to his son Joey and enjoyed watching him develop a love for the outdoors as well. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Joe is survived by his daughter Maggie (Ronny) Deming; his son Joey (Lynsi) MacGregor III; grandchildren Trevor and Tommy Deming, all of Show Low; his mother, Joyce MacGregor; brother Doug MacGregor; and sister, Susan (Tom) Drexel, all of Tucson. He is also survived by countless nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph F. MacGregor, Sr. Services will be held Friday, March 18 at Owens Mortuary with a viewing from 1-2 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. followed by a grave side service at the Lakeside Cemetery.
