Mary Koury Greer, 84, died Saturday, March 12, 2005 in Winslow.
She was born in Holbrook and has lived here all of her life. Mary attended Elementary School here and graduated with the class of 1938. She then attended College in Tempe and Flagstaff. Mary married Loyd Baker in Holbrook on September 8, 1940. He passed away July 19, 1959. She later married Roy Greer Nov. 5, 1964. He passed away Oct. 30, 1997.
Mary worked at the White Grocery and Meat Market with her husband Loyd for a time, and then worked at Bud Johnson Insurance Agency for several years, and then she went to work as a clerk in the office of Margaret Porter, County School Superintendent and remained there until she retired in 1982. Mary had belonged to the Holbrook Garden Club, the Bridge Club and the Old Holbrook Country Club and she loved to go dancing.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Pat Pogue of Joseph City, Carol Baker of Hopkins, South Carolina, Martha Blosser of Holbrook; son, John (Barbara) Baker of Flagstaff; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; one brother Bob Koury of Holbrook; sisters, Sarah Henling of Winslow, Josephine Alley of Holbrook.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 17 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Holbrook. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 16 at the church.
