Charles R. Myers, 88, of East Syracuse, N.Y., passed away Friday, April 23, 2010 at Van Duyn Home after a brief illness. He was born in Syracuse, N.Y., and moved to Lake Havasu City after retiring and returned to Syracuse in 2004.
He was a Merchant Marine veteran of World War II. He retired from Carrier Corporation in 1976 after 24 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Betty J. Murphy; four daughters, Pamela A. (Michael) Petrocci, of Jamesville, Mary M. Dietz, of West Lake Village, Calif., Christina L. (Paul) Zoeckler, of Fayetteville, and Susan E. (Robert) Matina, of Wyckoff, N.J.; three sons, Charles J. Myers, of Chittenango, Jack (Robin) Myers, of Liverpool, and Scott J., (Judy) Myers, of Las Vegas; 16 grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Assumption Church. Entombment in Assumption Mausoleum. There will be no calling hours.
