The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 03/18/2005 Juanita L. Merriweather, 90, died March 9, 2005 at John C. Lincoln Hospital in Phoenix. She was born April 7, 1014 in Byron, Oklahoma to Samuel David and Anna Nancy Harshbarger. She was a graduate of East High School in Wichita, Kansas, and also attended business college. Juanita was a homemaker, and a loving, caring, devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had been a resident of Eagar since 1981, and was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Springerville. She remained active and did a lot of traveling up until her death. She was always loving and devoted to her family. She could always be counted on to see the best things in life. She was the true meaning of the word friend. She is survived by her son Brian Merriweather (Joy) of Eagar; sister Alice Strelecki of Phoenix; nephew Stan Waldrop (Jennifer) of Phoenix; three grandchildren, Nina Merriweather of Eagar, Brian Merriweather (Elle) of Hamburg, Ark., and Christine Merriweather of Phoenix; great-grandson Evan Merriweather of Phoenix; and four other great-grand children. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Wayne Howard Merriweather. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 19 at 11 a.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church in Springerville with Pastor Mike Taylor officiating the service.
