Idella Chavez was born in Springerville, May 12, 1952. She was a premature baby and weighed 1 lb. 8-1/2 oz at birth. She died March 9, 2005 at the John C. Lincoln Hospital in Phoenix.
Idella was a person who inspired people. When she was born she acquired the nickname "Pepsqueak." There were many who loved Idella's cooking. She was a loveable person who touched people's hearts. She made them laugh when they needed to be cheered up. And even if they weren't family, they gladly helped her out when needed.
Surviving her are two boys, Eddie and Vincent Chavez; two grandchildren, Michael and Zoe; two brothers, Bobby and Larry; one sister, Kathy Salazar; and her father Roberto Chavez. Her family loved her dearly.
Idella is now resting with her mother Tonie and sister whom she never met, Mary Jane who died at birth.
A Rosary was held March 11, 2005. A Funeral Mass was held March 12. Both were at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Springerville.
