HICKS, Reba Mae

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 03/25/2005 Reba Mae Hicks, 91, of Tempe died March 22, 2005 at RTA Hospice and Palliative Care in Lakeside. Mrs. Hicks, a clerical worker at the library at ASU, was born Oct. 14, 1913 in Safford. She grew up in Safford and graduated from Safford High School and attended Arizona State Teachers College in Flagstaff. In 1933, she married John A. Hicks, her high school sweetheart. Following her husband's retirement, she and John enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling together. She was preceded in death by her husband, John March 28, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Margaret Jamison in 2002. Mrs. Hicks is survived by two daughters, Janet (Robert) Schneider of Snowflake and Linda (Emery) Arney of Mesa; son-in-law, Dale Jamison of St. Johns; 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 28 at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to RTA Hospice, 1789 W. Commerce Dr., Lakeside, AZ 85929.
