The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 04/05/2005 Annamarie Turley Haws, 76, died in Tucson, surrounded by family, April 1, 2005. She was born in Eagar, April 4, 1928. Services will were at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Eagar Stake Center April 4, 2005. Her family and those who knew her will miss Ann's sweetness, talents and willingness to try new adventures. Her rolls and pies were enjoyed in many homes and at countless church functions. Her last big "hurrah" was attending Woodbadge and completing her ticket. Her quilts will be a part of the memories she leaves us on earth. Ann had a huge heart that touched many lives.Ironically her heart had many difficult issues. Rheumatic fever as a child caused continual threats to her adult life. Nonetheless she persevered through eight births, and two open-heart surgeries. It was this same heart that eventually took her from this earth to return to her eternal spouse. She served two missions with this spouse, Carl Lenard "Buzz" Haws. Missionaries in the California San Jose and the Mississippi Jackson missions often enjoyed her biscuits and gravy. She is survived by eight children, Willis (Kathy) of Eagar, Hariella of Orem, Utah, Kayle (Annette) of Mesa, DeAnn (Artie) of Tucson, Theodore (Patricia) of Eagar, Dorolee of Provo, Utah, Taco (Janell) of Salt Lake City, Jeffery (Bobbie) of Mesa; 39 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren; a sister DíRae (Jay) Birdno; four brothers, Tillman (Svetlana), Tony (Betty), Karl (Edie) and Ruben (Sandra). Her husband Buzz, father and mother Tillman and Leila Turley, daughter Cynthia, and granddaughter, Leila, preceded Ann in death. Contributions may be made to your local chapter of the Boy Scouts of America or the LDS Perpetual Education Fund. Burnham-Jewkes Mortuary, Eagar was in charge of arrangements.
