Mona Josephine Cochrane, 77, of San Luis Obispo, Calif., passed away on Monday, May 10, 2010. She was born in Fresno, Calif., in December 1932 and raised on the Patchett Ranch in San Luis Obispo.
Mona attended nursing school in Santa Barbara, Calif., and worked at the hospital in Globe, Ariz., the San Luis Medical Clinic, General Hospital and Cal Poly Health Center. She retired as a nurse practitioner after about 50 years.
Mona rode horses (Jose was one of her favorites) and competed in team roping and barrel racing. She loved art and liked to draw and paint. She also loved to shop, golf, travel, read, shoes and was known for her class and style.
She always had a dog or two, most recently Louie and Tina, and usually a cat.
Mona is survived by her husband, Arthur Cochrane; sisters, Janice Brooks and Patti Mallory; brothers, Happy and Rex Patchett; son, Clint Cochrane; daughter-in-law, Leah Cochrane; daughter, Lisa Stamey; granddaughters Shannon Stamey and Tyree Cochrane. She was preceded in death by her sister, Melody Rulison; and parents, Hubert and Josephine Patchett.
A memorial service was held on May 15.
