The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ July 26, 1979, p. 9 HERBERT L. MATCHETTE Herbert L. “Bert” Matchette, 84, Wickenburg, died Sunday, July 22, at his home. A resident of Wickenburg for 41 years, Mr. Matchette was born in Wisconsin and owned a typewriter repair shop here. He was a member of the American Legion, served in the Army and was a 25-year member of the Wickenburg Volunteer Fire Department. The volunteer fire department were pallbearers at services conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Wickenburg Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Goddard officiating. He is survived by his wife, Hazel; a daughter, Shirley Murphy, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
