The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 04/08/2005 Sammy Kin Holden, 33, died Saturday, April 2, 2005 in Whiteriver. He was born in Canyon Day. Sammy enjoyed a number of things, including, fishing, camping, and reading science fiction novels. He worked in construction, forestry & loggings as well as landscaping. Sammy loved hanging out with his friends and loved his nieces and nephews. Sammy is survived by his children, Sebastian Holden and Berlinda Holden both of Canyon Day; step-parents, Raphael & Bernita Truax of Hondah; brothers, Kent Holden of Canyon Day, Stuart Holden of Flagstaff, Samuel Holden, Jr. of Whiteriver, Joe Holden of Whiteriver, Dwayne Danford of Whiteriver, Lucky Holden of Seven-Mile, Matthew Holden of Whiteriver, Kenneth Holden of Cedar Creek, Marty Holden of Whiteriver, Hershall Truax of Hondah, Raphael Truax, Jr. of Hondah, Rayshawn Truax of Hondah; sisters, Avalon Holden of Whiteriver, Jennifer Holden of Seven-Mile, Shawna Shorty of McNary, Karenita Holden of Canyon Day, Kenita Zospah of Canyon Day, Raenita Truax of Canyon Day, Rachael Truax of Hondah; he is also survived by three uncles. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2005 at the Canyon Day Lighthouse Family Church. A two-night wake will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9 at Bernita Truax residence in Canyon Day. Interment will be in the Canyon Day Cemetery. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
