Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Published Thursday, May 27, 2010. Vincent Roger Willett passed away May 15, 2010 in Lake Havasu City at the age of 84. Vincent was born on Oct 6, 1925, in Washington, D.C., to Anthony Clay and Mae L. Willett. Vincent and his wife, Katherine, moved to Lake Havasu City in 1975 from White Plains, Md. He was inducted into the U.S. Army Dec. 14, 1943, and served with the 186th Engineering Combat Battalion in the Pacific until the end of World War II. He enjoyed fishing, gambling, grandchildren and walking through the neighborhood entertaining everyone with his stories. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Katherine; sons, Vincent Willett Jr (Robin), Richard A. Willett (Nancy); daughters, Linda Willett, Robin Samitz (Mike), and Kim Finch (Don); grandchildren, Tammy, Kerry, Tiffany, Roger, Travis and Genie; great- grandchildren, Brittany, Brianna, Tyler, Amaya, Nicholas and Kate; and brothers, Thomas G. Willett and James H Willett. Memorial services were held at Our Lady of the Lake May 17. Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
