Jesse Cook III  

Jesse "Jake" Cook III, age 81, passed away in Sedona, Ariz., on May 24, 2010, at his home. He was born on Jan. 18, 1929, in Prescott, Ariz., to Jesse and Mabel Cook.

Jesse graduated from Prescott High School in the class of 1946. He made a career with the Arizona Department of Transportation, retiring after 36 years with them. He enjoyed hiking. 

Jesse is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty Cook; daughter Karen Winkler; son-in-law Fred Winkler; and grandchildren Amber and Amy Winkler. 

A memorial service for Jesse will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez St., Prescott. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Northern Arizona Hospice, 269 S. Candy Lane, Cottonwood, AZ 86326.

Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
