LOVELIS, Roy Darrel


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, May 25, 2010 Roy Darrel Lovelis of Cordes Lakes, Ariz., passed away on May 20, 2010, of complications from pulmonary disease. Roy was born Aug. 11, 1937, the 10th and youngest child of Otis Lee Lovelis and Grace Rosetta Anglin, originally of Oklahoma. During his life, he was an auto mechanic, truck driver, rancher and professional country music singer and guitarist. He served for many years in the Sheriff's Posse of Solano County, Calif., performing horse-mounted emergency services and other volunteer tasks for the county. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and served a tour of duty in the United States Air Force. He is survived by his sisters, Sylvia Bernice (Bunny) Yocum of Cordes Lakes and Ivaline Reynolds of Colorado Springs, Colo.; his daughter, Jeanette Hummel of Vacaville, Calif.; his son Lonnie Henley of Alexandria, Va.; and his daughter Carina Johnston of Sacramento, Calif. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010, at the Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel, East Valley Road in Prescott Valley, Ariz. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the Arizona Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel, 8480 E. Valley, Prescott Valley. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family final with arrangements.
