Wilma Alice Rehnberg Ireland went to be with the Lord Tuesday in Lake Havasu City on March 23, 2010. She was born on Aug. 25, 1918.
Wilma said, “For just a little farm girl from Gosper County, Neb., I got to see a lot of things and do a lot of things.”
Wilma lived in Tokyo, Japan, Ogden, Kan., Waipahu, Hawaii, and Ft. Huachuca and Phoenix, where she developed a love of the desert. Wilma loved her Lord, husband and family. She also enjoyed camping and hiking in the Chiricahua Mountains and backpacking the trails of the Grand Canyon.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Erin L. “Sam” Ireland, who she married on May 14, 1939.
She is survived by her brother, Blair (Georgie); five children, Erin L. “Chris” Jr., (Virginia), Damaris Huddle, (Gideon) Colin, (Honora), Stacia (Jo Nell Evans), Shannon Nafsey, (James); seven grandchildren, Candy, Kristi, Jennifer, Shawn, Lisa, James, Damaris; and eight great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Annie Grace, Amelia, Ethan, Davis, Jack, Keala and Heath.
Her family would like to say “Thank You” to the people of Casa Grande House and Hospice of Havasu for the care our Mom received.
Services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 1605 S. McCulloch Blvd., Friday at 4 p.m. Words of comfort and inspiration will be expressed by Pastor Harry Stamper.
“We know she is face to face with Jesus, reunited with Dad, somewhere on the Bright Angel Trail roaming free.”
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund or your favorite charity.
