The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, May 25, 2010 Demecia Rodarte, age 95, died on May 23, 2010, at Hospice Family Care in Tucson, Ariz. She also was known as Dee. She was born in Mexico on Oct. 31, 1914, and was the daughter of Rafaila Hernandez. She was a great wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was a stay-at-home mom and always took care of her children, whom she always put first. She was employed at the Mata Dexter Elementary School working in the cafeteria. She and her husband, Angel, were both members of the Sacred Heart Church choir. She loved to cook, sew, garden and always took care of her grandchildren. One thing she loved doing was making pajamas for her grandchildren. What she did the best was make the world's best flour tortillas and refried beans. She is the one who taught her son, Ralph, how to drive an automobile. She was loved by her husband, Angel, who preceded her in death on March 12, 2010. She is survived by sons, Angel Jr. (Lucy), Ralph (Lucille); daughters, Hortenciai Diaz (Ted) and Rosie Lopez (John); 20 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Rosary will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010, with visitation one hour prior at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, corner of Cortez and Carleton streets. A celebration of life mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010, at Sacred Heart Church, 150 Fleury, Prescott, Ariz. Final commendation and farewell will be at Pioneer Home Cemetery. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family.
