George Carlton Rawson, 61, passed away at his home at 618 West Cherry Thursday morning at 4:05 following several weeks serious illness due to a heart ailment.
The deceased had been ill at his home since the death of his wife,
Mrs. Mattie B. Rawson, on Monay, August 19.
Born in Commerce, Tex., March 16, 1885 he had been a resident of Flagstaff since 1922. For the past several years he was engaged
n the poultry business.
Other than his daughter, Mrs. Betty Jean (Vernon) Fairchild, he is survived by his sister, Miss Pearl Rawson, who came here in April
from her home in Pasadena, Calif, for an indefinite stay. A son,
George Rawson, lost, his life in the Pacific during World War II, in
1943, in a plane crash. He has two brothers, H. Alan Rawson of Pasadena, Calif. and John S. Rawson, of Eastland, Texas.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock
from the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. R. S. Beal Jr., officiating.
The body will lie in state from one to five o'clock tomorrow, Friday
afternoon at Flagstaff Undertaking Parlors.
