The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, August 12, 2007 Joyce Ann McNamara (Freiheit), long time resident of Arizona, passed away at her home on June 14, 2007, from lung cancer. Her daughters, Margaret and Kelly were at her side. Joyce was the daughter of the late Arthur Freiheit and Mabel Roe. She was born July 6, 1933 and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Kelly High School. She was married to the late James McNamara for eleven years until his sudden death. Joyce was the mother of six and the grandmother of thirteen and great-grandmother of three. She was musically inclined; loved to sing, self-taught to play the piano, banjo, auto-harp and ukulele. She spent her life giving to others by visiting nursing homes, hospitals, schools, friends and family, sharing her talents of song, music and laughter. Joyce was a joyful, compassionate and merciful human being, a friend to everyone and pen pal to many. She was known for her wearing of hats. Her faith was unshakable. She was one of God’s earthly apostles. Her motto was, “Let Go, Let God.” Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Sacred Heart Church, 150 Fleury St., Prescott, Arizona. Joyce donated her body to Science Care of Phoenix, Arizona; giving in death as she did in life. Masses appreciated. Information provided by survivors.
