HALE, Floyd Jay


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 04/26/2005 Floyd Jay Hale, 73, of the Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Woodsfield, Ohio died Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at the center. He was born in Eagar July 14, 1931, a son of the late Charles Floyd and Georgia Evelyn Cherry Hale. He was a retired equipment operator, a Mormon by faith; a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Elks Lodge in Show Low. He loved to take pictures of nature in his spare time. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Casey. Surviving are his wife, Norma Jane Lough Hale, whom he married Dec. 12, 1981; three sons Randall (Joni) Hale of Washington, Daniel (Keri) Hale of Phoenix and Christopher Hale of Phoenix; four step-daughters Rebecca Y. Mannion of Cleveland, Ohio, Virginia A. Crowell of Woodsfield, Ohio, Joan E. (Donald) Pack of Malago, Ohio, Judy L. Wallace and friend Debby Watts of Gahanna, Ohio; nine step-sons, R. Mark (Laura) Wallace of Houston, Texas, Louis H. (Susan) Wallace of Phoenix, Stephen M. (Beth) Wallace of North Bend, Oregon, David W. (Beth) Wallace of Sugarcreek, Ohio, Phillip L. (Katy) Wallace of Akron, Ohio, Daren M. (Beth) Wallace of Woodsfield, Ohio, Martin P. (Susan) Wallace of Woodsfield, Ohio, Nathan J. (Kim) Wallace of Chandler, Lance H. Wallace and fiancé Janet of Belpre, Ohio; three sisters Bonnie Burke and Norma Kane both of Kingman and Belva Philpott of Oregon; 37 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 23 at Watters Funeral Home with Pastor David Langdon officiating. Burial followed in the Jerusalem Cemetery, Jerusalem, Ohio with full military grave site services by the Belmont Veterans Council of the VFW. Watters Funeral Home in Woodsfield, Ohio handled arrangements.
