Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona March 17, 1977 Services were held in his birthplace, Deming, New Mexico, for long time rancher Howard Birchfield, 80, who died March 10 at the Wickenburg Community Hospital. A Wickenburg resident for 29 years he is survived by his daughter Kathlene Brady of Wickenburg and seven other daughters in Arizona and out of state, two sons, and a brother, 2 sister, and 38 grandchildren. A member of Arizona Small Miners Association, he was involved or affiliated with 51 claims in Yavapai County and 41 claims in Cochise County according to his daughter, who said she requested a death inquest.
