RYAN, John (Jay) Wesley


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 05/13/2005 John "Jay" Wesley Ryan John Wesley Ryan reunited with the Lord and his loved ones May 8, 2005 in Lakeside. He was born Aug. 8, 1925 in Lonewolf, Oklahoma. He enlisted in the United States Navy July 15, 1944. He was wounded in action Oct. 26, 1945. John was honorably discharged and awarded the purple heart March 27, 1946. John enjoyed life, among the many things he loved to do was, horseback riding, camping, traveling, arrowhead hunting, antiquing and going to yard sales. He was known to many as a practical joker and loved to talk and debate with family and friends. John was a very family oriented man. he enjoyed coffee with his buddies, and dinner with his wife, and taking the grand kids to Taco Bell or the Dollar Store. He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Eletha Corrine Ryan; his son Pat Ryan; and 12 brothers and sisters. John is survived by his wife Helen Jaunita Ryan; his sister Merle Graham; two sons, Mike Ryan and Ralph Alfrey; three daughters Edna Lewis, Joanne Lathum and Sharon Eades; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He was be dearly loved and will be missed by many. There will be a committal service at 2 p.m. Friday, May 13 at the City of Mesa Cemetery. Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor handled the arrangements.
